May Davison was relative of A Scott Davison and exhibited from the same address in Sunderland. She flourished in the late 19th century painting showing works at the Society of Women Painters and the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool. The college of St Hild and Bede in Durham have two views of the City painted by her.
