William Heaton Cooper (1903-1995). Landscape painter in watercolour born in Coniston, Lancashire. Studied under his father Alfred Heaton Cooper and at the Royal Academy schools 1922-1925. His many depictions of the Lake District were based on many years as a fell walker and climber. Cooper was an honorary life member of the Lakes Artists Society and wrote many illustrated books on the Lake District. He was elected Royal Institute in 1953 and showed works at the Royal Academy and RBA.
