Rutherford Charles (Fl late 19th early 20th century)

Coastal and Landscape painter in oil and watercolour. Practised at North Shields and Newcastle. A regular exhibitor at the Bewick Club and later at the Artists of Northern Counties at the Laing Gallers. Most of his work was in oil and featured the Northumbrian coast. He had a gallery for many years at the side in Newcastle. Commonly signed with a monogram with an interlocked CR.
