Jobling - Joseph Jobling (1869 - 1930)

Joseph Jobling (1869 - 1930). Coastal landscape and bird painter in oil and waterclour. One of 3 sons of Robert Jobling. Joseph was born in Newcastle and recieved some tuition from his father before becoming a professional artist. He first began exhibiting his work at the Bewick Club. He moved with the family to Whitley Bay where he continued exhibiting from alongside his father showing equal competence in his work. In later life he turned his attention to photography and produced a large number of paintings and drawings of birds.
