Watercolour, framed, 12"x22", signed, labels versThomas Swift Hutton (1865 - 1935). Landscape and coastal painter in watercolour. Born in Edinburgh. Details of his early artistic training are not known but by the age of 27 he was exhibiting his work at the Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts. He later moved to Newcastle and began exhibiting at the Berwick Club and later both the Royal Academy and the Scottish Academy. Many of his works are painted on small boards which are said to have come from shirt boxes. His work is represented at Shipley Art Gallery, South Shields museum and AG.
