Morgan Frederick William b1860
An architectural and landscape painter. Originally an architects assistant Morgans drawing and watercolours exhibit a fine eye for detail. Morgan became a photographer, framer and art dealer with a business based in Durham. He was a prolific spare time artist who sketeched extensively around the north. One of his sketch books which belongs to the Royal Institute of British Architects was included in the Durham County Council exhibition in 1993 to celebrate the 900th anniversary of the Catherdral. The Laing Gallery has a collection of his drawings of Newcastle.
