Hine Harry T 1845-1941

Harry T. Hine, RI, ROI (1845-1941)
British watercolour artist, the son of Henry George Hine, who painted landscapes, genre and town scenes. He was formerly a Mate in the Merchant Service. He lived variously in London, St Albans, Stevenage, and Botesdale, Suffolk. He was elected a member of the Royal Institute in 1879, and the Royal Society of Painters in Oils (ROI) in 1883. Hine exhibited widely, including at Birmingham, the Dudley Gallery, the Dowdeswell Gallery, Liverpool, Manchester, the ROI, and elsewhere, and frequently at the RI. He married Victoria (nee Colkett), a successful artist in her own right
