Victor Noble Rainbird (1889 - 1936) - Landscape, street scene, coastal and figure painter in oil and watercolour. He was a muralist, illustrator and stained glass designer. Lived in North Shields and studied art at local evening classes and went on to attend Armstrong College which is now Durham University where he studied for four years under George Hatton. During his time at the college he was awarded the silver medal for highest placed student in all subjects, he also was the Kings prizeman in design, with honours. He went on to win a silver token for his figure compositions which featured in the Government exhibition of work. He also gained guidance from professors Lanteri, Letherby and Moira whilst studying at the Royal College of art. He travelled to France and Belgium painting street scenes. He exhibited between the years of 1926 - 1930. He exhibited and the Royal Academy (2) and the Walker Art Gallery - Liverpool.
