Robinson William R Fl 1810-1875

Portrait, genre and landscape painter in oil and watercolour. This artist first practised at Richmond in Yorkshire from where he sent a number of works to the northern Academy. In 1838 he sent a number of pictures to the North of England Society exhibition in Newcastle. By 1844 Robinson had moved to Sunderland where he resided till his later life however in the mid 1840s he spent a short time living in Durham.

A view of Durham by Robinson was included in the Historic Durham Exhibition 1993 held at the DLI museum and arts centre.
