Rogers Charlie b1930
Born in Gateshead in 1930, Charles Rogers started painting in the early 1960s. A self taught artist, using his immediate surroundings as subject matter, the streets and back lanes around Gateshead, provided valuable inspiration for his subsequent paintings, watercolours and sketches.
A former holder of the Tyne Tees Trident Fellowship and regular exhibitor at the Royal Academy's Summer Exhibition, Roger's work is represented in many public and private collections in the United Kingdom.
