Robert Malcolm Lloyd was best known for his watercolour painting and he predominantly painted marine and coastal landscapes.

He lived in London but traveled extensively around Britain and also Northern France. He exhibited his work at many institutions, including the Royal Academy, London, the Suffolk Street Galleries, London, and New Watercolour Society, London.
