Robert Howey - Robert Leslie Howey (1900-1981). Landscape,coastal and portrait painter in oil, watercolour and pastel. Born in Hartlepool where he studied art and practised as a professional artist. He exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Redfern Gallery, London as well as many provincial galleries. He was a reguler exhibitor at the Laing Gallery and a one man exhibition of his works was held at the Gray Art Gallery in Hartlepool in 1949.
