Lynn Millar (1882 - 1977). Landscape and coastal painter in oil and watercolour. This artist practised at South Shields in the early years of the last century and regularly exhibited his work at the Artists of Northern Counties exhibitions at the Laing Gallery, Newcastle. From 1911, he lived at Ryton. His final exhibits at the Laing Gallery comprised two watercolour views of Whitby Harbour, North Yorkshire. His son, William Lynn Millar was also an artist.
