John William Gilroy (1868-1944). Landscape, marine, portrait and genre painter in oil and watercolour. Born in Newcastle and was a self taught artist. He has exhibited at the Berwick Club, Newcastle, the Royal Academy and exhibitions at the Laing Gallery.
