Portrait, figure and landscape painter in oils and watercolours; also Art Teacher, He first began to practice as a professional artist in Dundee moving to Northumbria and then to Newcastle in 1894 where he maintained studios in the Haymarket. Exhibited is work at Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Water Colours; the Royal Scottish Academy; and the Royal Academy. Represented: Laing A,G. Newcastle; South Shields Museum & A,G.; & Sunderland A.G.
