A marine and Coastal painter in watercolour often with scratching out. Settled in Scarborough in 1830 strongly influenced by Turnar and De Wint. Later lived in Torquay for his health noted for his atmospheric, thundery coastal scenes. Exhibited at the Royal Acadamy and many more galleries.
