Scott, Freida Marion
Freida Marion Scott, nee Ewart, was a prolific artist who painted still lifes, landscapes, portraits and abstract works in a variety of styles, from Post-Impressionistic to Scottish Colourist. As a member of the Glasgow Society of Women Artists and the Southern Art Club, her work was admired throughout Glasgow and Scotland. Freida Scott was also a lecturer of Art at Jordanhill College in Glasgow where she shared her talent with many students. Kelvingrove Art Gallery recently chose one of her paintings to hang in the ‘Your Paintings’ area of the Galleries, which has proven itself a popular exhibit. The artist, much admired by her peers, sadly passed away in 2012.
