Hill Rowland Henry 1873 - 1952

 

Landscape painter in oils and watercolours. Born in Halifax. Studied at the Halifax School of Art. Exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy from 1897, at the Paris Salon, Venetian International and in many provincial exhibitions. Travelled and painted in many European countries. Lived at Hinderwell near Staithes, and painted many local scenes. Examples of his work are in the Imperial War Museum, Leeds, Wakefield, Whitby, Harrogate and several other Public Galleries.
